Kent Trading Standards have been made aware of fake digital thermometers being sold. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) seized more than 400 fake digital thermometers after raids in Harrow and Oxford. Some of the fakes were being sold for as little as 99p. The MHRA warned they could give inaccurate readings, posing a serious threat to children with potentially fatal illnesses such as meningitis.

The day provided an opportunity for an insight into substance misuse as well as building strong working relations with other organisations.
Polling in the Tunbridge Wells East Division by-election to Kent County Council (caused by the sad death of Kevin Lynes) took place yesterday. The Lib Dems came within 150 votes of snatching the seat from the Conservatives - a remarkable result, and one that offers a real hope to taking the seat in 2013.
