Kent Trading Standards has been made aware of a scam involving consumers being telephoned by people alleging to be from the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) asking for personal and financial information. This includes asking for bank account details in order for the OFT "to reclaim bank charges on behalf of consumers".

Lib Dem Folkestone Town Councillor Gary Fuller has joined calls for the replacement of the oil drum barrier across Rendezvous Street in the town centre. Cllr Fuller who represents Harvey Central Ward, which covers the town centre area, has had a number of complaints about the barrier, which he described as an eyesore.
