An Audit Commission report published this week on Shepway Council confirms that on local streets "standard of cleanliness is poor", the Council "is not adequately meeting the parking needs of the community" and "has not been working to clear and published performance standards".

Lib Dem campaigner and keen re-cycler Maureen Speller has discovered that the plastic bottles skip at the Ross Way waste centre will be withdrawn on 31 March this year. Kent County Lib Dems have renewed requests for a review of car parking charges at William Harvey Hospital.
