Massive Backing for Folkestone Post Office Campaign

Hundreds of people have returned petition forms against the proposed closure of Folkestone Post Office. A few weeks ago the Post Office announced that Folkestone Post Office is to be closed, with services will be moved to a new "franchise" based at WHSmith in Sandgate Road - unless a public consultation can change their mind.

Folkestone Dog Hunt ends as Bracken is found

The owners of missing Folkestone dog Bracken have thanked all those who helped the hunt for their missing terrier. After a call from Aylesham, Bracken has been reunited with her family, seemingly fine but needing a good meal.

Can you help find Bracken?

A dog hunt is underway across Folkestone after a Patterdale Terrier disappeared from its home in Acrise, near Folkestone. The owners have sent out an email across the area appealing for local people to help them find Bracken and are offering a cash reward.

Dhan Gurung

Dhan Gurung first ex-Gurkha Councillor in the UK

The BBC have featured Dhan Gurung as the first Gurkha councillor to take office in Britain, as he promised to represent the whole community in Cheriton. Lib Dem Councillor Dhan Gurung, 39, was voted on to Folkestone Town Council in last Thursday's local elections. He served as a Gurkha in the British Army for nearly 20 years before retiring in 2004.

Elections 2007: Lib Dems Win Cheriton Town and District Seats

The Liberal Democrats won all three Folkestone Town and Shepway District seats in the local elections held on 3rd May. Peter Carroll, Peter Gane and Tim Prater were elected as Shepway District Councillors. Peter Gane, Dhan Gurung and Tim Prater were elected as Folkestone Town Councillors.

Polls Have Closed for the Local Elections

The polls have closed for the local elections across Shepway. Many thanks to all those who have voted. The count of the votes will take place on Friday from 9am at the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone.
