Pent Valley Technology College - Proposed Closure Consultation

Kent County Council would like to hear your views on a proposal to close Pent Valley Technology College. It is proposed that the school closes for current Years 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 from 31 August 2016 and that the current Year 10 pupils remain on site until July 2017 to complete their GCSE studies. It is proposed that Pent Valley Technology College closes permanently from 31 August 2017.

Say NO to Fracking: Keep it in the Ground [Opinion]

The Green Liberal Democrats have been working on a "Keep it in the Ground" motion which is now finalised and ready to be submitted to federal conference committee (by Jan 13th) for inclusion in the agenda for York in March. There is a good chance the motion will be debated if submitted: the Party Conference Committee specifically asked for a definitive motion, two regions passed a similar motion in November, and Tim Farron wants this policy!

Sandgate High Street Potholes

The Kent County Council problem reporting system says that there has already been a report of potholes near the junction of Sandgate High Street and Military Road, and that works "are being programmed". However, despite there being serious potholes in the road for months, no repair has been made.

Canadian singing sensation Andy Laine joins Bucks Fizz superstar Mike Nolan and the star of last year's pantomime John Pritchard for this year's pantomime: Dick Whittington. Same as last year, the FHODS annual pantomime will be a mix of professional and amateur talent. The opening date is the 12th December and, with the exception of a couple of dates, will run twice daily up to the 24th December.
