Phil Woolas was MP for Oldham East and Saddleworth from 1997 and, until today, Labour's shadow Immigration Minster, appointed to that last role just a few weeks ago by new Labour Leader Ed Miliband. Today, a court judged that he had been guilty of an illegal practice during his election campaign worthy of declaring his 103 vote election win at the 2010 election void.

Folkestone Primary Academy - Winners of the 2010 Folkestone Councillors' Football Cup

Folkestone Academy Primary School were the winners of the 2010 Folkestone Councillors' Cup football tournament held on Wednesday 3rd November. The football competition held The Stadium, Church Road, Cheriton, is organised by Cheriton Councillor Dhan Gurung, funded by Folkestone Town Council and supported by Charlton Athletic Community Support who provide coaches and referees for the day. Teams from Folkestone Primary Academy, Stella Maris, Morehall, Harcourt, Cheriton and St Martins in Folkestone were all taking part.

Pilgrim's Hospice Christmas Fayre

Large numbers of people attended the event to boost funds. Home-made jams, chutneys and marmalade were on sale as well as cakes and pastries. I bought my usual marmalade replacement and treated the family to home-made sponge cake. There were some great bargains to be had at the stalls and a very welcome cup of tea.
