Kent Trading Standards: Folkestone area targeted by workman scam

Residents in Folkestone, Dover & Deal have reported being called upon this week by person who claims he needs access to their property because he is working on the house next door or he has previously done work on their home. He claims that he needs to do remedial drainage work and / or install dehumidifiers in their home to remedy the problems the neighbours are having.

My feet are becoming used to the additional standing to watch important events and my leg muscles are getting stronger to cope with the extra walking and standing. This event however, required endurance of feet, legs and back! Perhaps because the military are so used to standing and walking, they have forgotten that some of the rest of us are pretty unfit!

Folkestone Film Factory Summer Schools

Over the summer, Folkestone Film Factory is running a series of five-day film workshops for 8 to 15 year olds, in which they will get the chance to make their own film. Last summer saw the making of an apocalyptic disaster film, a zombie dance-off and a surrealist comic art film. Each workshop is limited to 10 places to ensure participants have the chance to try every aspect of film-making.

Trading Standards Alert: Scam mailings

Kent Trading Standards are warning of a scam mail being sent out telling people that they have won a substantial amount of money and that all they have to do is to order an item from a brochure enclosed with mailing. They are then promised that the cheque will be in the post. They won't. THIS IS A SCAM.
