Space Hoppers Live! at Cheriton Library

On 24th August from 12.30-1.30pm, children can discover the solar system with Mark Brake and 'NASA' science rapper, Jon Chase, star of CBBC's Space Hoppers at Cheriton Library, Cheriton High Street. Mark and Jon will take children on an exciting journey to find out what's needed to take a holiday in outer space.

Sandgate Escarpment "Village Green" Bid

Following discussions with other interested parties in Sandgate, Sandgate resident David Cowell has decided to invoke Section 15 of the Commons Act 2006. This allows Kent County Council to declare the site a 'village green' and, as such, protect it, in perpetuity, against any development.

Sandgate Parish Plan

Sandgate Parish Plan Launched and Available Now

The new Sandgate Parish Plan, put together by the Parish Plan Working Group after extensive consultation with Sandgate residents, has now been published and a limited distribution has been undertaken. The plan identifies local residents priorities for the Sandgate area, covering areas including the environment, planning and traffic.

Once again the Cinque Port Dignitaries gathered at the invitation of the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports at Walmer Castle. Lord Boyce hosted a function to enable him to meet the newly elected Mayors and to speak of the plans for the area.

Dan File of Sandgate School, did an incredible job of setting up this event, where dozens of organisations displayed their particular clubs and activities. The Leas Cliff Hall came alive when the children of Sandgate School arrived to enjoy the practical activities on offer.
