Marking today's introduction of ID Cards for foreign nationals, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Campaigner for Folkestone & Hythe Neil Matthews has backed the opposition to the scheme by Shadow Home Secretary, Chris Huhne. Chris said:

Plans to create a new organisation to manage council housing in East Kent have been agreed in principle by Shepway District Council. New Romney Coast Lib Dem Councillor Val Loseby has welcomed Shepway District Council's halting of the public consultation of a separate parish for Greatstone. Val Loseby had questioned the consultation process with Shepway Council when it became clear that only selected households were being asked their views and not all electors even in those areas.
