Sainsbury's 1 - Shepway 0: Store shows Council the way in encouraging shoppers to Folkestone

Shepway Lib Dem Councillor Tim Prater is calling on Shepway Council to follow the lead of Sainsbury's in Folkestone in encouraging people to park and shop in the town. Sainsbury's currently offer 30 minutes free parking to any user in its Folkestone Town Centre store (with up to 2 hours free for Sainsbury's shoppers) and free parking after 5pm. Shepway run car parks charge for any length stay.

Cheriton Councillor Tim Prater met with St Martins Primary School Headteacher Kate Love and a representative of Kent Highways in Horn Street, Cheriton before Christmas to discuss the issues of speeding and traffic in the road.

Shepway Council at Christmas

Shepway residents who would normally have their landfill waste collected on Thursday (Christmas Day) will have it collected on Monday 29 December. Collections due on Friday (Boxing Day) will be made on Tuesday 30 December.

Gordon Brown has, at last, announced a date for withdrawing our troops from Iraq. In 2003, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and the Labour Party, wholeheartedly supported by the Conservatives considered Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and long range missiles, and its continuing non-compliance with Security Council Resolutions, pose a threat to international peace and security.
