Potholes on the Bayle

Fuller Shocked over Awful State of the Bayle and The Parade

Local Campaigner Gary Fuller was shocked to see the state of the road in both the Parade and the Bayle last week. He was appalled at the number of potholes affecting both roads, noting that there were barely any flat surfaces on either of the roads. He has since reported both roads to Kent Highways for immediate action.

At long last, South Eastern Trains has carried out refurbishments at Folkestone West. Lib Dem councillor Tom McNeice began a campaign eighteen months ago, pressing for improvements to the station area, and especially to the subway under the railway lines.

£1,000 Solar grant available for Shepway residents

The Kent Energy Centre is currently working with Shepway Council to promote the Solar Renewable Grant Scheme for residents who may be interested in purchasing solar hot water or solar electricity equipment. The scheme offers a £1,000 grant towards the installed cost of solar electric or solar hot water systems.

Shepway youth to get up close with the Band of the Grenadier Guards

Young people are being given the chance to get involved when one of the best military bands in the world visits Shepway. The Band of the Grenadier Guards is playing at the Leas Cliff Hall in August, and as well as presenting a varied and entertaining programme of music, the 45-strong band is inviting local young people to listen to its rehearsals, gain an insight into how the concert is put together and to talk to band members.
