Sandgate Road Repairs to start, and last up to three months

Shepway Councillor Tim Prater has been told that, following a site meeting this morning between Kent Highways and Southern Water amongst others, works will begin tomorrow in Trinity Gardens, related to the issues in Sandgate Road. These are expected to last into next week and then work is expected to commence soon after to repair the sewer in Sandgate Road.

Exposed street light electrics in Sandgate Road repaired

The damaged base of a streetlight in Sandgate Road Folkestone, close to the barriers blocking car access, has been repaired having been reported by local Lib Dem campaigner Gary Fuller. The streetlight had a number of exposed wires and some potentially sharp edges that could be reached by a young child.

Action to be Taken on Potholes in Central Folkestone

Folkestone Lib Dem campaigner Gary Fuller has received confirmation from Kent County Councillor Roland Tolputt that Kent Highways will take action on potholes in Central Folkestone. Gary received the confirmation four weeks after taking the County Councillor on a walking tour of the many damaged streets in the centre of the town.

Horn Street Closure now expected to last until Mid-November

Water main replacement in Horn Street is now expected to take until mid-November to complete, according to an update received by Cheriton Lib Dem Councillor Tim Prater from Kent Highways Services. The road has been closed to through traffic since January this year, with the work expected to take only around 4 months originally.

Peter Carroll gets Naseby Road "Buffer strip" action

Cheriton Councillor Peter Carroll has received an undertaking from Shepway Council that they will be sending a team to clear up and cut the 'buffer strip' at the rear of houses in Naseby Avenue in Cheriton and that they will revisit the idea of allowing tenants to make use of the land under some form of notional lease.
