In Folkestone and Hythe District, three Community Support Hubs are being set up for both those that NEED help due to COVID-19 issues over the next few weeks, and those OFFERING it. There have been a HUGE number of people wanting to help, and the Support Hubs (which should offer phone numbers, email and online forms) will be the place to do so.
A number of local businesses have asked me if I know anything more about the Small Business Rate Relief Grants of £10,000 recently announced by the Chancellor.
All Folkestone & Hythe District Council recycling and waste services are currently running as normal.
The Government has made a series of announcements in the Budget last week and over the last few days on measures to support businesses during this difficult time. After the Government update last night on the Coronavirus / Covid-19 pandemic, there have been a number of anouncements and changes locally. I can't comment on if the Government advice is right / adequate (I'll leave that to experts!) but I am hearing a lot of updates from across our local community, and thought it might be helpful to bring them together here.
On Tuesday 10th March from 2pm-8pm at The Channel Suite, Leas Cliff Hall, The Leas, Folkestone, Kent, CT20 2DZ there will be an opportunity to view proposals for The Leas Pavilion and adjacent car parks to Cheriton Place and Longford Terrace, prior to the submission of a Planning Application.
Been notified of a scam that is circulating today and is mainly targeted at call centres although they could try and ring any number. Call are being reported nationally coming from 020 379 57734. The calls suggest they are from Amazon and saying that your Amazon Prime subscription has expired. The callers don't actually know if you have an Amazon prime account but they will offer to renew your subscription and take a payment over the phone. You can protect yourself by not giving out any personal information about yourself to unsolicited callers. If you do use Amazon prime log into the Amazon website and check your own expiry date. If you get a call from any organisation asking to take a payment you can always hang up and dial the a published number on the company's web site or recent bill.
I am writing to inform you about arrangements made for patients currently registered at Park Farm Surgery. The doctor that runs the surgery has made the decision to end their contract with NHS South Kent Coast CCG and will not be providing GP services at the practice after 1 April 2020.
