
Remembering the Gurkhas on Remembrance Sunday
On Armistice Day, 11th November, we remember the brave soldiers who gave their lives or suffered for us in war.
Tim has lived and worked in Sandgate (on Sandgate High Street) since 2004.
A trustee of the Sandgate Heritage Trust, Secretary of the Sandgate Members Club, Treasurer and Trustee of the Chichester Memorial Hall, former Trustee of the Gurkha Memorial Fund and former Governor of St Martin's School, and current Sandgate Speedwatch volunteer, Tim knows and works for the area!

In May 2023 Tim was re-elected to all the above seats for four more years. At the District Council AGM on 24th May 2023, he became Deputy Council Leader and Cabinet Member for Finance and Governance.
Previously, Tim has served on Folkestone Town Councillor for Cheriton from 2006-2011, and Shepway District Councillor for Cheriton from 2007-2011, Kent County Councillor for Folkestone West from 2009-2013. He has sat on Sandgate Parish Council for Sandgate Village since 2011, was the Vice Chair of Sandgate Parish Council from 2018-2020 and Chair from 2020 to date.

In Part 1 of "Why RingGo Is Hard to Use for F&H Parking Permits", I explained the problem I was having renewing my Folkestone and Hythe Residents Visitor Permit Application.
I have had the point made to me reguarly by local residents, and made the point myself to Folkestone and Hythe Parking Services, that the RingGo system used for Resident Visitor Permits is *not* straightforward or easy to use.

A motion to the 21st October Folkestone and Hythe District Council meeting proposed by Labour Group Leader Connor McConville calling to look at options for reduced or zero Council Tax for Care Leavers aged 22-25 in Folkestone and Hythe was passed tonight by 28 votes for with one absention.
At the online Folkestone and Hythe District Council (F&HDC) meeting tonight (21 October), Lib Dems Tim Prater and Gary Fuller successfully moved a motion on fireworks that recevied wide cross-Party backing.
