The Government has made a series of announcements in the Budget last week and over the last few days on measures to support businesses during this difficult time. [Update 23 March 2020 - see the Coronavirus: Business Support Measures [23rd March Update]. ] We are regularly updating information about these on our www.Folkestone.works website, including:
The issue that never was: this edition of SWF Focus was written and printed by mid-March, and although a few hundred were delivered on 12 and 13 March, the remainder were to be delivered week commencing March 16th.
After the Government update last night on the Coronavirus / Covid-19 pandemic, there have been a number of anouncements and changes locally. I can't comment on if the Government advice is right / adequate (I'll leave that to experts!) but I am hearing a lot of updates from across our local community, and thought it might be helpful to bring them together here.
On Tuesday 10th March from 2pm-8pm at The Channel Suite, Leas Cliff Hall, The Leas, Folkestone, Kent, CT20 2DZ there will be an opportunity to view proposals for The Leas Pavilion and adjacent car parks to Cheriton Place and Longford Terrace, prior to the submission of a Planning Application.
Been notified of a scam that is circulating today and is mainly targeted at call centres although they could try and ring any number. Call are being reported nationally coming from 020 379 57734. The calls suggest they are from Amazon and saying that your Amazon Prime subscription has expired. The callers don't actually know if you have an Amazon prime account but they will offer to renew your subscription and take a payment over the phone. You can protect yourself by not giving out any personal information about yourself to unsolicited callers. If you do use Amazon prime log into the Amazon website and check your own expiry date. If you get a call from any organisation asking to take a payment you can always hang up and dial the a published number on the company's web site or recent bill.
