Kent Trading Standards have been made aware of fake digital thermometers being sold. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) seized more than 400 fake digital thermometers after raids in Harrow and Oxford. Some of the fakes were being sold for as little as 99p. The MHRA warned they could give inaccurate readings, posing a serious threat to children with potentially fatal illnesses such as meningitis.
On Friday 4th May 2012 PCSO Mark Ball attended a seminar on Substance Misuse and its implications. The day was attended by over 100 other persons from various partner agencies. The day provided an opportunity for an insight into substance misuse as well as building strong working relations with other organisations.
Polling in the Tunbridge Wells East Division by-election to Kent County Council (caused by the sad death of Kevin Lynes) took place yesterday. The Lib Dems came within 150 votes of snatching the seat from the Conservatives - a remarkable result, and one that offers a real hope to taking the seat in 2013.

The below excellent directory of social help offered by Churches Together in Folkestone (CTF) member churches has been put together and I was recently forward a copy. It's great to see so much support - and in so many different and very pratical ways - being offered by the Folkestone Community.
Kent County Council are in the process of setting up working arrangements called "Locality Boards" across the County. They are intended to be meetings where the area's District and County Councillors can consider issues that relate to both councils and make localised recommendations and decisions to meet a particular areas needs, and where a top down County approach would not have the local information needed.
