Porchlight and South East Supported Housing Month

Kent homeless charity Porchlight are taking part in South East Supported Housing Month which runs between the 15 November and 10 December 2010. Organised by service providers throughout the South East, and coordinated by the National Housing Federation, the aim of the month is to raise awareness of the work of the sector.

Iain Dale is Wrong on supporting Phil Woolas

Conservative blogger Iain Dale has made the case (http://iaindale.blogspot.com/2010/11/why-ive-donated-to-phil-woolas-appeal.html) that Phil Woolas, the disgraced and hopefully soon to be ex-MP for Oldham East and Saddleworth, has been unreasonably treated by the law. He's even sent £100 towards Mr Woolas' legal costs to mount a Judicial Review.

Local PCSO Debbie Bishop has organised a litter pick on Sandgate Beach. Teams are meeting at 10:30am on Saturday 20th in Castle Road car park. Extra helpers would be welcomed! All equipment will be provided.

Hythe Town Council statement on Fisherman's Beach Development

A statement by Cllr John Schoner on behalf of Hythe Town Council has called on Shepway to refuse the submitted planning application (Planning Application No Y10/0436/SH - Fishermans Beach, Hythe), and raised questions about Shepway's own potential £2.25m income from the development if the application is passed. Their statement says:
