Local Lib Dem Campaigner Gary Fuller helped raise money for Comic Relief recently by having his legs and arms waxed, having his hair dyed and by letting his students apply Liberal quantities of make-up to his face!

Bus Passes for the Elderly - Passed and Cut by Kent

Management of the Concessionary Travel Pass Scheme (bus passes for the elderly) has passed to Kent County Council as of 1 April 2011. At the same time, the starting time of the pass was changed by Kent Conservatives from 9am to 9.30am.

Public Buildings: DEC generally needed. EPC generally not.

Trading Standards have been made aware that some producers of commercial Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) may be writing to local parish councils telling them they need EPCs for their village halls etc. and risk large fines if they do not comply. This is not correct because an EPC is only required for a building when constructed, sold or let.

Kent to receive £6.5m to tackle potholes

Councils have been told how they will benefit from the doubling of funding available for repairing potholes as announced in Wednesday's Budget. Transport Secretary Philip Hammond has written to all English local highway authorities to inform them of their share of £200m.

Kent Police Anti-Social Behaviour Strategy: Have Your Say

Kent Police have been working with partnership colleagues to assess a new approach in the management of anti-social behaviour (ASB) across Kent and Medway. This approach will focus on the level of risk or harm that is being caused to an individual or group. This harm-based approach supports the recommendations from a national review of ASB by Her Majesty Inspectorate of Constabulary.
